IHC Salutes our Veterans
Every year on Veteran’s Day, we take time to thank all the brave men and women who are willing to give their lives to serve our country. Integrated Human Capital joins the nation in honoring our veterans.
This year we would like to showcase the veterans in our IHC family. Below is a glimpse into the military lives of Art, Nick, Robert, Victor and Rene – five talented and hardworking veterans who proudly served our nation for a combined 85 years!
Art Dorantes – IHC Branch Manager, San Antonio
Art served 23 years in the United States Navy. After graduating high school from Thomas Jefferson in San Antonio, Art’s Naval training began in Orlando, FL. Art served oversees and stateside for over 6 years before he was offered a position as a Navy Recruiter in his hometown of San Antonio. It was in recruiting that Art excelled. After 3 years, Art was promoted into recruitment management to train and develop Navy recruiters in the Southern California region. He later moved on to train Navy supervisors and management in leadership concepts, recruiting and human resource principals.
Immediately after retiring from the US Navy in 2011, Art began working at Integrated Human Capital. He began his civilian life as an onsite manager leading all efforts in the delivery of quality service to our largest client and over 300 temporary staff personnel.
He was promoted 10 months later to IHC Branch Manager for South San Antonio where he continues to develop and guide his staff. Art earned his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration from Wayland Baptist University and is married with two children.
Nick Bamba – IHC Onsite Manager, San Antonio
Nick joined the US Army at the age of 35 to further his education and provide a better life for his wife and four children. Prior to joining the Army, he worked with the Defense Commissary Agency. Once Nick completed his basic and AIT training, he worked in Air Defense Command, Control, Communications, Computers, and Intelligence Tactical Operations Center Enhanced Operator for Ballistic Missiles. He was deployed overseas for one year, serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom and awarded a Combat Action Badge for engaging while under fire. Nick served a total of four years and retired as an E5, Sergeant.
Nick now works as an Onsite Manager for one of IHC’s largest clients. He oversees two supervisors and over 200 temporary personnel.
Robert Hayes III – IHC Onsite Supervisor, San Antonio
Robert comes from a family of U.S. Marines. Both his father and mother served in the US Marine Corps along with five sons. Several of the Hayes brothers served during the same time and were fortunate to have each other for support. NBC San Diego aired a story on Robert and his family’s ties to the US Marine Corp. For over 13 years, Robert crisscrossed the globe serving numerous Military Occupational Specialties and leading Marines on each assignment and command he was with. Robert recently reflected on his years in the US Marines, “The time, sweat, blood and tears that I put into being a Marine and serving my Country, it would not mean anything without the people that I served for and with,” he commented. Robert is the proud father of 8 sons and 2 daughters and future U.S. Marines.
Robert now works as an Onsite Supervisor for one of IHC’s largest clients and manages over 200 temporary employees at any given time.
Victor Vega – IHC On-site Coordinator/Staffing Supervisor, San Antonio
Victor served in the U.S. Navy for over 20 years. During his Navy career, Victor served on several ships stationed in San Diego including the USS Fort McHenry (LSD-43), USS Fitzgerald (DDG-62), and Commander Third Fleet / USS Coronado (AGF-11). He was deployed three times during the Persian Gulf War and served as an Operations Specialist during his fourth deployment. In 2000, Victor began his 10-year career in Navy recruitment in both Dallas and San Antonio and retired in 2010 as a Navy Counselor 1st Class Petty Officer.
Victor comes to IHC with 10 years of recruiting experience and is passionate about connecting people to great companies while helping them advance their career path. Victor is an On-site Coordinator/Staffing Supervisor in the IHC San Antonio South office.
Rene Sanchez – IHC Staffing Supervisor, San Antonio
Rene served 3 years in the U.S. Air Force and 20 years in the U.S. Navy and retired as Chief Navy Counselor/Recruiter. During his military career, Rene completed four deployments to the Persian Gulf and various countries. His favorite deployment was in Perth, Australia. He was stationed on the USS Vinson (CVN-70) homeported in Alameda, CA and Bremerton, WA. and was active in the humanitarian relief to Hurricane Katrina victims. Rene proudly completed a five-year Navy recruiting tour in San Antonio and a four-year Navy recruiting tour in Denver. Rene is a Texas native, from Somerset and a proud father to son Caleb, who is enlisted in the U.S. Army and currently deployed to Afghanistan. “God bless him and bring him home soon,” Rene proudly says.
Rene is a Staffing Supervisor at the IHC San Antonio South office where he helps make positive changes in people’s lives.
